Services

Aside from our collections (print, video, music, serials, and digital), we also offer a number of other services:

Computers – word processing software and internet access. The computers shut down half an hour before the library closes. See the policies regarding computer and internet usage for more info.

Genealogy – We have Miami county history materials available, we have microfilmed copies of Peru Newspapers from the late 19th century to a few months old. We have some obituaries, marriage records, indexes to death records, and more – check out the genealogy link and lists for more info on what genealogy resources we have! If you are unable to come in person to research something, you can send a genealogy query with a self-addressed and stamped envelope. There is a $6.00 nonrefundable fee per individual obituary request and for any other types of requests, you will be billed $12.00 per hour, minimum, with a bill being sent along with any results found. We don’t have any genealogy staff, so we do not take request over the phone and your patience is requested as we do our best! Microfilm copies are $0.20 per page.

Prints – You can print in black and white from the computers for $0.20 a page. We also have a wireless printer for public use. Black and white prints cost the same as from the other printer, with color prints available for $0.50 a page.

Copies – Ask at the desk in the computer room and we’d be happy to make copies for you! It costs $0.20 a page for black and white copies and $0.50 a page for color copies.

Lamination – We offer lamination services for $1.00 per 8 1/2″ x 11″ lamination pouch.

Faxes – We offer faxing, both sending and receiving (our fax number is 765-473-3060), but do not offer international faxing at the moment. Faxes cost $1.00 per page to send and $0.20 per page for incoming faxes.

Meeting Rooms – We offer the use of several meeting rooms to the public on a first-come-first-served basis, with reservations also allowed. We have two small meeting rooms, the perfect size for 2-5 people, on the Children’s Floor.  We also have a meeting room that can hold from 10-15 people comfortably, located on the adult floor and a large program room that can hold up to 100 people behind the Children’s Floor. All rooms may be reserved up to 3 months in advance, with reoccurring reservations also available; however, all reservations must be made with the first and last name of an authorized person and their phone number, along with the specific time, date, and room  needed. Library programs are always given preference and will always be scheduled first. We do ask that meeting rooms be vacated at least 30 minutes before the library closes and that you always pick up the room and clean it after you’re done The large program room does have a Smart TV and DVD player, but you are responsible for using the equipment and providing any extra cords you’ll need. If you will need to test out the equipment first, please reserve a time to meet with staff and do that!

Book sale – We have a small room on the children’s floor, and a portion of another shelf, dedicated to sale materials. The price is normally $0.50 per item, but sales may give discounts if you buy multiple items. We will also have periodic large book sales, so keep an eye out on Facebook, in the library, and here for notices about when one is coming up!
